Deaf Dogs from Down Under!

Here's Three Happy Heelers, a kewl blog from my friend Dooby over on the TreasureTime metal detecting forums.

He and his wife have three Australian shepherds, heelers. Two of them -- Louie and Callie -- can't hear, but Dooby says that's ALL they can't do! Gus seems to be the leader of all things rompy and fun. Give 'em a visit, okay?

Hello there! Gus & gang told us about you so we decided to drop by & check your blog out. You have some really wonderful stories about animals who are noy normal or who are special. We have two special cats ourselves. One is a paraplegic Siamese mix. We flew her back from Brunei(we are Malaysians & we're living in Malaysia now after 5 years in Brunei) because nobody wanted to adopt her because she was a lot of trouble(yes indeed she is). We had other cats back then but they all were perfect & were able to be adopted out by the second day after advertising but not Tinkerbell, our paraplegic cat. When we moved back to Malaysia, we found another special cat living under the apartment stairs. It was a black, not good-looking female cat with some kittens. She only has three legs. Till today we can't find out whether she was born like that or her mother bit her leg off accidentally while birth. We named her Ginny Tripod. They both are wonderful cats. If you'd like the full story of them both, we'd love to share it with you & the others. We have pictures of them too. Tinkerbell's story is the saddest actually because she has internal injury & every once in a while, she would urine out thick blood & everybody told us to put her down. But we did not give up hope & tried. We decided to spay her after three years of non-stop bleeding. After spaying, no more bleeding. The spaying saved her life. That was three years ago. Today, she is 6 years old & still going strong. Fat, makes alot of noise & has alot of spirit. Looks like cats do have 9 lives eh? Hehehe...
